Meet our minister and his wife

Michael A. Denton is a native of Rockford, IL. He attended Westside Church of Christ where he began preaching at the age of 16 under the guidance of Jefferson R. Caruthers, Sr. and Excell Lewis his father in the Gospel. After graduating high school he continued his studies at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX. While at Southwestern he was a member of Tau Phi Kappa where he served as president and assisted with various campus ministries and activities. In his 30 plus years of ministry he has served in the capacity of Assistant Youth Minister, Youth Minister, Assistant Minister, and Minister. He has served congregations in Illinois, Texas, Tennessee, & Mississippi.

He has been married to Rosemary (Bridges) Denton for 23 years, and has six adult children Michael II, Myia, Payton, Johnathan, and Daneal and Dionna. He has 2 grandchildren Mariah & Johnathan II.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, helping those in need whenever he can, grilling, watching basketball (Lakers) and Football (49ers).

He credits his mother & grandmother for introducing him to the Lord and keeping him grounded in his faith. They have always been a source of encouragement and strength. It was their example of faithfulness that led him to God.

Michael tries to live his life as an example to others. He wants them to see Christ in him and through his faith and dedication other may be won to Christ.

Sis. Rosemary is a native of New Rochelle, NY where she obeyed the gospel at the age of 16. Sis. Rosemary also attended Southwestern Christian College where she graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Science. She then went on to further her education and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at LeMoyne Owen College and finally obtained her Master’s degree in Leadership at Belhaven University with a certificate in Human Resources. Rosemary is a faithful member of the Lord’s church. Rosemary loves working in God’s vineyard. Rosemary has served in the capacity of Sunday and Wednesday children’s bible class teacher, Lady’s bible class teacher, Youth worker, Youth choir coordinator, Seasoned Saints ministry, and a member of North Mississippi Acapella Chorus. Sis. Rosemary works for Volunteer Behavioral Health where she is the office manager/care manager. Sis. Rosemary’s favorite scripture is Philip 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”
